In the spirit of the approaching summer solstice, in cooperation with the Valmiermuiža brewery we have created something new – the hops shampoo bar. It is a product that is friendly to people and nature, provides gentle hair washing and strengthening, and is packed in environmentally friendly packaging.

How did it all begin?
The master brewer of Valmiermuiža works hard day after day so that no one runs short of tasty beer on the festive table, but mountains of work don’t diminish the urge to dream. They say that if you sleep on your right side, you will only have good dreams. So after a long working day the master lay down on the soft hay on his right side and dreamed. Opening his eyes in the morning – the picture was clear! A Beer Spa!
Since ancient times, hops have been used in folk medicine not only as a healing remedy for the body but also as a calming herb in times of anxiety. No sooner said than done! The master decided to bring the power of hops to life not only in a beer mug but also in your bathroom. With a bundle of hops under his arm, he went looking for a craftsman who could help make the dream come true and ended up at the Silmachy Remedies workshop in Baldone, where together with the workshop’s pharmacist Marta Šulce he quickly arrived at a new recipe – a hops shampoo bar for caring for your crowning glory.
Herbalists have long recommended hop infusions for strengthening hair roots. Now science also confirms that hops contain valuable flavonoids and bioactive substances that protect hair cells against oxidative stress, thereby strengthening the hair structure.*

The hops are complemented by nettle extract, whose rich vitamin and mineral content stimulates hair growth and keeps hair looking healthy. The shampoo bar is based on plant-derived surfactants with a milder pH, which are gentler on the scalp and hair. It is a double power – hops strengthen the hair structure, while nettle stimulates its growth.
